Former Nigerian footballer Gift Atulewa has passed away at the age of 38 due to complications related to high blood pressure.
His death came just one month after the burial of his wife, a tragic event that may have contributed to his condition.
Atulewa had been managing blood pressure issues but was recently hospitalized after his condition worsened.
He had also been diagnosed with malaria, which aggravated his high blood pressure, ultimately leading to his demise.
Atulewa, who had been active in local football tournaments, is remembered for his notable career, including his participation in Nigeria’s U-20 team at the 2005 FIFA World Youth Championship.
