The United States has granted American citizenship to 3,270 Nigerians through military service, highlighting the role of foreign nationals who serve in the U.S. military as a pathway to citizenship.
This program, known as the Military Accessions Vital to National Interest (MAVNI), allows foreign nationals who have served in critical roles in the U.S. Armed Forces to apply for expedited naturalization.
The announcement underscores the contributions of Nigerians to the U.S. military and their role in strengthening the relationship between the two countries.
