On February 18, 2025, National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu handed over 59 rescued kidnapping victims to the Kaduna State Government. The victims, comprising 28 women, 24 men, and six children, were abducted from various parts of Kaduna State and rescued along the Abuja-Kaduna Highway. One individual remains hospitalized.
The rescue operation was a collaborative effort involving the military and intelligence agencies, coordinated by the Office of the National Security Adviser. Ribadu reaffirmed the federal government’s commitment to securing the release of all individuals still held captive.
The Kaduna State Government, represented by Chief of Staff Sani Liman Kila, expressed gratitude for the successful rescue and emphasized the importance of continued collaboration between federal and state authorities to address security challenges.
