Breaking News: NSCDC Apprehends Suspected Vandals in FCT

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has apprehended six individuals suspected of vandalizing public infrastructure during the recent festive period.

The arrests occurred at various locations across the FCT:

  • Salihu Mohammed, 27, from Kaduna State, was detained in the Life Camp-Kado area while vandalizing armored cables.
  • Mohammed Gaddafi, 28, from Nasarawa State, was apprehended along the Yar’Adua Expressway near Airport Road for vandalizing solar panel poles and FCMB billboard poles.
  • Musa Ibrahim, 18, from Kano State, was caught on the Yar’Adua Expressway in possession of dismantled parts from an El-Rufai commercial bus.
  • Suleiman Yusuf, 21, Ibrahim Mudassir, 27, and Kabiru Sani, 22, all from Zamfara State, were found with items including streetlight poles, bulbs, fencing iron hooks, and other materials suspected to be stolen.

FCT Commandant Dr. Olusola Odumosu commended the dedication of his personnel in safeguarding public infrastructure and reiterated the Corps’ commitment to eradicating vandalism.

He warned perpetrators to desist from such acts or face legal consequences. The suspects are currently under investigation and will be prosecuted in accordance with the law.
