The Ogun State Government has taken custody of a four-year-old boy who was allegedly brutally assaulted by his father in the Igboko area of Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area. The rescue operation was initiated following reports from concerned individuals about the child’s condition.
The Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hon. Motunrayo Adijat Adeleye, confirmed that the child is now under the protective care of the Ministry. He is receiving comprehensive medical attention and emotional support to aid his recovery. The alleged perpetrator, the boy’s father, is currently in police custody, with legal proceedings underway to ensure justice is served.
Commissioner Adeleye emphasized the government’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding vulnerable individuals, particularly children, from abuse and maltreatment. She urged the public to remain vigilant and promptly report any cases of child abuse, domestic violence, or similar offenses. To facilitate this, the Ministry has provided toll-free emergency lines—08000000666 and 08000000555—for anonymous reporting and immediate intervention.
