The decomposing body of a 45-year-old woman, identified as Titilope Olusanya, was discovered in her apartment on Shittu Street, Madojutimi Abiola Way, Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The discovery was made after her landlord, Adebesin Adebayo, reported to the Kemta Divisional Police Station that Olusanya had not been seen for several days. Concerned for her well-being, he noticed a strong, unpleasant odor emanating from her apartment, which was locked from the inside.
Upon receiving the report, police officers from the Kemta Division arrived at the scene, forced entry into the apartment, and found Olusanya’s body lying on the bed in a swollen state, indicating she had been deceased for some time.
Efforts to contact her immediate family were unsuccessful, as no relatives could be reached. Additionally, attempts to transport her body to the nearest hospital were hindered by a lack of medical equipment necessary to prevent potential infection.
The Ogun State Police Command has launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding Olusanya’s death. Preliminary findings suggest the possibility of suicide, but authorities are continuing their inquiries to determine the exact cause of death.
