Businessman’s Tragic Assassination Post-Ramadan Prayer

On March 1, 2025, Ismaila Awoyinka, a prominent businessman in Ore, Ondo State, was tragically assassinated by unidentified gunmen. The incident occurred around 8:35 p.m. at his residence near Caring Heart Mega School in the Idi-Mango area, shortly after he had observed the Taraweeh prayer on the first day of Ramadan.

Eyewitnesses reported that the assailants, dressed in white attire, arrived on a motorcycle and concealed themselves in a nearby bush. As Awoyinka approached his home, they ambushed and shot him at close range, resulting in fatal injuries.

The community has been deeply shaken by this event, with many expressing shock and sorrow over the loss. Local authorities have condemned the attack and are urging residents to remain vigilant, particularly during evening hours.

Law enforcement agencies have initiated an investigation to apprehend those responsible for this heinous act. As of now, no arrests have been made, and the motive behind the assassination remains unclear.
