Pakistanis Detained for Kidnapping Operations in Lagos

Lagos Police Arrest Pakistani Gang Involved in Kidnapping

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested two Pakistani nationals, Roman Gull (19) and Aftab Ahmad (28), for allegedly leading a kidnapping syndicate in the state. The suspects, along with five accomplices who are currently at large, reportedly lured a 48-year-old Pakistani from Kano State to Lagos with a fake job offer as a chef. Upon his arrival, they abducted him and demanded a ₦50 million ransom from his employer.

The incident came to light on March 5, 2025, when the Ikeja Division of the Lagos State Police Command received a distress call about the kidnapping. An anti-crime patrol unit was promptly dispatched, leading to the successful rescue of the victim and the apprehension of Gull and Ahmad. However, five other Pakistani suspects managed to escape and are currently being sought by law enforcement.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrests and noted that efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining suspects. He emphasized the commitment of the Lagos State Police Command to combating kidnapping and other violent crimes in the state.
