Pastor Faces Charges of Rape and Assault in Court

Court Case: Pastor’s Alleged Crimes Against Young Women

A 51-year-old pastor from Endlovini, Khayelitsha, Cape Town, identified as Xolani Mbeka, has been arrested on multiple charges, including rape, attempted murder, and assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. The allegations involve three victims aged 15, 22, and 23, with incidents reportedly occurring between November 2022 and January 2025.

Mbeka is accused of exploiting his pastoral position by convincing young women seeking healing to engage in sexual acts under the guise of spiritual intervention. One victim was allegedly impregnated as a result. The community became aware of his actions, leading to his arrest. The victims are currently receiving treatment and counseling. Mbeka’s bail hearing is scheduled for February 20, 2025, at the Khayelitsha Magistrate’s Court.
