The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has split into two factions amid escalating internal conflicts.
The factional divide led to the suspension of key party figures, including Acting National Chairman Umar Damagum, National Secretary Samuel Anyanwu, National Publicity Secretary Debo Ologunagba, and National Legal Adviser Kamaluddeen Ajibade.
These suspensions were initiated by different factions of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), accusing each other of disloyalty and violating the PDP’s constitution.
The suspensions highlight ongoing power struggles within the party, which have been further complicated by legal battles and leadership disputes.
The crisis raises concerns about the future of the PDP as it struggles with reconciliation efforts and risks losing its influence in Nigeria’s political landscape if the issues are not addressed urgently.
