Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State, has expressed support for Nigerian professionals, particularly nurses, migrating abroad for better opportunities.
Speaking at the St. Charles Borromeo College of Nursing and Midwifery in Onitsha, Obi argued that the country should not restrict people from seeking “greener pastures” outside Nigeria.
He emphasized that such movements can be beneficial to Nigeria, citing the potential for foreign remittances to contribute to the nation’s economy.
Obi also stressed the importance of investing in education and health to ensure future prosperity for Nigerians, encouraging leaders to focus on training more people, as those who leave for better opportunities abroad also help generate revenue for the country through remittances
