Police Arrest 20-Year-Old for Co-Wife’s Murder in Jigawa

Jigawa: Young Woman Arrested for Killing Co-Wife

In a tragic incident in Jigawa State, Nigeria, a 20-year-old woman named Rukayyah Amadu has been arrested for allegedly killing her 30-year-old co-wife, Asiyah Amadu. The incident occurred on February 24, 2025, in Buju village, Dutse Local Government Area, following a domestic dispute.

During the altercation, Rukayyah reportedly poured hot water on Asiyah, resulting in severe burns. Asiyah was immediately taken to Dutse General Hospital for treatment but sadly succumbed to her injuries on March 4, 2025.

The Jigawa State Police Command has confirmed Rukayyah’s arrest. She has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Dutse for further investigation. During interrogation, Rukayyah allegedly confessed to the crime.
