Police Arrest Couple Accused of Sending Threatening Messages in Anambra

Anambra Police Capture Duo Behind Abduction Threat Messages

The Anambra State Police Command has apprehended a couple accused of sending threatening messages to residents, demanding ransoms with threats of abduction or killing.

The suspects, identified as Mr. Kingsley Okoye, 36, and Mrs. Chidinma Okoye, 27, were arrested in Ozubulu, Ekwusigo Local Government Area, based on technology-driven intelligence.

During their confession, they admitted to the crimes and revealed that they destroyed some of the SIM cards used in the threats.

The police recovered phones and SIM cards as evidence. The case has been transferred to the anti-kidnapping and robbery squad for comprehensive investigation, and the suspects will be charged to court once the investigation concludes.
