In a recent operation, the Ondo State Police Command apprehended two individuals, Ridwan Salisu (45) and Umar Isyaku (19), suspected of involvement in kidnapping activities. The arrests occurred in Ipele, Owo Local Government Area, and led to the recovery of ₦3.6 million in cash.
While the suspects claimed the money was from their Point of Sale (PoS) business, authorities are investigating its potential connection to ransom payments.
In a related development, the Edo State Police Command detained three suspected kidnappers—Adamu Usman, Iliyasu Abubakar, and Safiyanu Mohammed—six days after they allegedly collected a ₦10 million ransom for the release of two victims, Sunday Ajibola and his mother-in-law.
Preliminary investigations revealed that one of the recovered SIM cards belonged to Ajibola, who identified the suspects as part of the gang responsible for their abduction on March 11, 2025.
