Police Arrests 8 Secondary Students for Cultism in Ifo: What You Need to Know

Cultism Crackdown: Ifo Police Apprehend Eight Secondary School Students

​On March 21, 2025, the Ogun State Police Command arrested eight students from Ifo High School for alleged involvement in cult-related activities. The students, aged 15 and 16, were reportedly disturbing the school environment and extorting valuables from fellow students. ​

The arrested students are:

  • Bennett Bolawatife (15)
  • Aluko Taiwo (15)​
  • Kehinde Aluko (15)​
  • Omolaso Waris (16)​
  • Akinola Ifeoluwa (16)​
  • Azeez Hassan (16)​
  • Kilani Babatunde, also known as “Soldier” (16)
  • Fasedemi Samuel (16)​

This incident highlights the ongoing challenge of cultism in Ogun State’s educational institutions. In recent years, authorities have intensified efforts to combat this menace, with reports indicating that numerous students have been arrested for cult-related activities.

The Ogun State Police Command, in collaboration with school authorities and other stakeholders, continues to implement measures aimed at eradicating cultism and ensuring a safe learning environment for all students.
