The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has successfully dismantled a notorious kidnapping syndicate that has been terrorizing local communities. In a well-coordinated operation, the police apprehended the gang leader, identified as Uduak Akpan, and four of his accomplices.
The operation resulted in the recovery of several firearms, including an AK-47 rifle, a G3 rifle, a pump-action rifle, and a locally made Dane gun. Additionally, the police seized N3.1 million in cash, believed to be proceeds from the gang’s illicit activities.
The arrest and subsequent dismantling of this kidnapping ring are significant achievements for the Akwa Ibom State Police Command, demonstrating their commitment to enhancing public safety and combating organized crime in the region.
