The Imo State Police Command recently dismantled a notorious child trafficking syndicate and rescued three abducted children.
The operation, carried out by detectives from the State Criminal Investigation Department in Owerri, led to the arrest of four suspects involved in luring and abducting the children.
The children, who were taken from local communities in Imo State in July 2024, were found after being sold for one million naira in Aba.
The arrested suspects include individuals from Imo and Abia States, and they are undergoing investigation while efforts continue to locate additional missing children.
The rescued children have been safely reunited with their families.
This incident highlights the ongoing challenges posed by organized child trafficking rings in the region, as well as the importance of community vigilance.
