Police Deny Knowledge of Missing N180m NGO Funds Involving VeryDarkMan

VeryDarkMan Controversy: Police Clarify Stance on Alleged N180m NGO Fund Theft

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has stated that it is not aware of any investigation into the alleged disappearance of ₦180 million from the account of an NGO owned by social media influencer Vincent Martins Otse, known as VeryDarkMan (VDM). FCT Police spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, clarified that there is no record of such a case with their command.

Similarly, the Plateau State Police Command has denied involvement in any investigation related to the alleged hacking incident of VDM’s NGO funds. The Plateau Police Public Relations Officer emphasized that the matter was not reported to them, and they are not handling it.

VDM had previously claimed in an Instagram video that ₦180 million was missing from his NGO’s account due to hacking and mentioned that a suspect had been arrested. However, the lack of official police records or investigations into the matter has led to public skepticism and calls for transparency.

As of now, there is no official confirmation regarding the alleged missing funds, and the situation remains unclear. Authorities have urged VDM to provide details on where the case was reported to facilitate any potential investigation.
