In Niger State, Nigeria, the police have arrested three individuals—Martha Andrew, James Luka, and Johnson John—for allegedly attempting to purchase a six-month-old fetus for ritualistic purposes. The suspects reportedly offered a pregnant woman ₦30 million to terminate her pregnancy and deliver the fetus to them.
The woman, residing in the Rafin-Yashi area of Minna, alerted authorities after receiving the proposal. Police operatives from the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) apprehended the suspects near a hotel along the Eastern Bye-Pass in Minna on February 17, 2025. During interrogation, the suspects confessed to conspiring to procure the fetus for rituals. They claimed to be working for an individual known only as “Gbege,” who is currently at large.
Efforts are ongoing to locate and arrest this accomplice. The arrested individuals are facing charges of criminal conspiracy and attempted miscarriage. Authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to help combat such heinous crimes.
