The Abia State Police Command has dismissed three officers—Sergeant Jonas Nnamdi, Corporal James Daniel, and Corporal Ifeanyi Emeka—for their involvement in conspiracy, abduction, and extortion of civilians.
The officers, along with two civilian accomplices, were arrested on January 29, 2025, after being found armed with an electric baton, an assault rifle, and a Beretta pistol. They allegedly hired a minibus, abducted civilians along the Port Harcourt Expressway, and demanded ransom from their families.
Following an investigation and orderly room trial, the officers were dismissed and handed over to the State Criminal Investigation Department for prosecution.
