Police Rescue 13 Trafficked Victims and Arrest Suspects in Kaduna

Kaduna Trafficking Bust: 13 Victims Rescued, 3 Suspects Arrested

On January 31, 2025, operatives of the Kaduna State Police Command intercepted an unmarked vehicle transporting 13 individuals suspected of being trafficked to Oyo State. The operation led to the arrest of three suspects: Samson Peter (25), Haruna Duniya (45), and Abdulazaq Olawole (58). The rescued victims are currently receiving support, and investigations are ongoing to dismantle the trafficking network.

In a related development, on January 29, 2025, the Ogun State Police Command conducted a covert operation targeting a known kidnappers’ den.

Upon arrival, officers engaged in a gunfight with the suspects, resulting in the neutralization of five gang members and the successful rescue of three kidnapped victims. The operation also led to the recovery of various arms and ammunition, three mobile phones, ₦5.2 million in cash, and the victims’ vehicles.

Inspector-General of Police, Dr. Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, commended the officers for their dedication and bravery. He urged all police personnel to remain vigilant and committed to maintaining peace and security across the nation.
