The Lagos State Police Command has uncovered and dismantled an illegal internet fraud training center, commonly known as a “Yahoo School,” operating in the Iju area of Lagos State. During the operation, officers arrested four principal suspects:
Additionally, six trainees were apprehended, including a 12-year-old boy named Minachi Udochukwu.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the principal suspects recruited their trainees from Anambra State, engaging them in cybercrime activities and confiscating the proceeds from these fraudulent endeavors.
All suspects have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Yaba, for further investigation and prosecution.
Efforts are ongoing to apprehend additional accomplices, including the sponsors who financed the trainees’ enrollment and the owner of the facility. The police have urged the facility’s owner to surrender to authorities immediately.
