Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has been declared wanted by the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly assaulting government officials. The incident occurred when officials from the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development visited Portable’s establishment, Odogwu Bar, in Sango-Ota, to enforce a closure order due to illegal development without necessary permits.
During this operation, Portable and his associates reportedly obstructed and assaulted the officials. While nine of his associates have been arrested and arraigned, Portable remains at large. The police have obtained a court order declaring him wanted and are seeking public assistance for information leading to his arrest.
In response, Portable has released videos denying the allegations, claiming he did not assault the officials and is being unjustly targeted. He has also pleaded for the release of his detained associates.
The Ogun State Police Command urges anyone with information on Portable’s whereabouts to contact the nearest police station or reach out through official communication channels. Harboring or assisting the fugitive is a punishable offense under Nigerian law.
