President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has signed into law the bill establishing the North-Central Development Commission (NCDC). Senate President Godswill Akpabio announced this development during a plenary session on Tuesday, February 4, 2025.
The NCDC is tasked with addressing developmental challenges in Nigeria’s North-Central region, aiming to promote growth and stability. The commission will focus on infrastructure development, economic diversification, and the enhancement of social services to improve the quality of life for residents in the North-Central states.
This initiative reflects the government’s commitment to equitable regional development and the reduction of disparities across Nigeria.
