The Rivers State Police Command recently dismantled a child trafficking syndicate in Port Harcourt, arresting multiple suspects, including two women.
Four children were rescued during the operation, and investigations revealed the syndicate’s network extended to neighboring states, including Delta and Imo.
The traffickers reportedly paid women to bear children, which were then sold to buyers.
The police are intensifying efforts to apprehend others involved, including individuals who had already purchased children from the group. Items such as a vehicle used in the operation were also recovered.
