Transformer Vandalization Gone Wrong: Electrocution in Ogun State

An unidentified man was electrocuted on Friday, January 24, 2025, while attempting to vandalize a transformer in the Akute area of Ogun State. The incident was reported by the chairman of the Irewole community, Rasheed Ajagbe, who noted that the community had been experiencing frequent thefts and damage to their power transformer.

Upon inspection, they discovered the lifeless body of the individual inside the transformer house, indicating he had been electrocuted while trying to cut a wire.

The Ogun State Police Command’s spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the incident, stating that detectives visited the scene, took photographs, and contacted the PHCN office.

The deceased’s body was subsequently deposited at the General Hospital Ifo mortuary for autopsy and preservation.
