Speed Darlington’s Lawyer Stan Alieke Challenges Police Over Prolonged Custody

Stan Alieke Speaks Out: Speed Darlington’s Legal Battle with Police Continues

Speed Darlington, the controversial Nigerian artist, remains in police custody following his re-arrest in Owerri, Imo State, over allegations of jumping bail.

His lawyer, Stan Alieke, disputes the claims, explaining that Darlington was previously granted administrative bail in October after being detained for five days.

He missed a required appearance due to a medical emergency abroad. Despite making arrangements to comply after a scheduled performance, he was apprehended again.

This arrest is linked to a previous case involving a petition filed by Burna Boy.

Alieke has criticized the police’s actions as unnecessary and a misuse of authority, describing the situation as a deliberate attempt to embarrass his client.
