Stable Power Supply Reduces Fuel Dependency in Nigeria

Nigeria Sees Surge in Electricity Access, Cuts Fuel Use

Nigeria’s Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, recently stated that many Nigerians no longer rely on fuel or diesel for electricity due to improvements in the country’s power supply.

He mentioned that enhanced electricity access has reduced the need for running generators, which had previously been a common practice to cope with frequent power outages.

Adelabu highlighted that over 40% of Nigerians now enjoy up to 20 hours of power daily, thanks to reforms and investments in the energy sector.

However, his claims have sparked mixed reactions, with some Nigerians acknowledging the improvements but still facing challenges with consistent power, especially in certain regions.
