Stolen Bus Recovered in Kogi as Police Nab Suspected Thief

Breaking News: Suspected Thief Arrested with Stolen Bus in Kogi

The Kogi State Police Command has apprehended a 39-year-old suspect, Nnamdi Osita, in connection with the theft of a Toyota Coaster bus. The vehicle, bearing Abuja registration number GWA 488 ZD, was reportedly stolen over a year ago from Nyanya, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

According to a statement by the command’s spokesperson, SP Williams Ovye-Aya, the arrest occurred on Wednesday, January 23, 2025, following an intelligence report. Police operatives from the ‘B’ Division in Lokoja, in collaboration with other security agencies, intercepted the stolen bus traveling along the Abuja-Lokoja highway around 4:45 PM. The suspect was promptly arrested, and the vehicle was recovered.

The Commissioner of Police in Kogi State, CP Miller Dantawaye, confirmed the incident and assured the public of the command’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of lives and property in the state. He also urged citizens to support the police by providing timely and credible information regarding criminal activities in their communities.
