Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle is poised to announce his final 23-man squad this week, ahead of Nigeria’s crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.
Chelle, appointed in January 2025, initially released a 39-man provisional list, introducing several new faces alongside seasoned players like Ahmed Musa and Victor Osimhen.
The Super Eagles currently sit fifth in Group C, with three points from four matches, trailing Rwanda, South Africa, and Benin Republic, each with seven points.
The upcoming fixtures are pivotal for Nigeria’s World Cup aspirations. The team will face Rwanda in Kigali on March 21, followed by a home match against Zimbabwe at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on March 25.
Fans eagerly await Chelle’s final selection, hoping for a squad capable of revitalizing Nigeria’s qualification campaign.
