The Super Eagles of Nigeria have moved up one spot to 43rd in the latest FIFA men’s world rankings released on April 3, 2025. Despite this global improvement, they have slipped out of Africa’s top five, now ranking sixth on the continent.
This shift follows their recent performances in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, where they secured a 2-0 victory against Rwanda but were held to a 1-1 draw by Zimbabwe.
In the African rankings, Morocco leads at 12th globally, followed by Senegal (19th), Egypt (32nd), Algeria (36th), and Côte d’Ivoire (41st).
Globally, Argentina maintains the top position, with Spain moving up to second place, pushing France to third. England and Brazil complete the top five rankings.
