Troops from the 6 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, in collaboration with Sector 3 of Operation Whirl Stroke (OPS), successfully rescued four individuals who had been kidnapped in Kallong village, Karim Lamido Local Government Area of Taraba State. The operation occurred on April 3, 2025, when the troops swiftly intervened, forcing the kidnappers to flee and abandon their captives. All four victims were rescued unharmed and have since been reunited with their families.
In recognition of the Nigerian Army’s efforts to enhance security in the region, youths from the Andamin community paid a solidarity visit to the troops’ camp. During this visit, they expressed their gratitude and pledged to support the troops by constructing a borehole at the camp to improve the welfare of the soldiers. The project is expected to be completed within three days.
Brigadier General Kingsley Uwa, Commander of 6 Brigade/Sector 3 OPS, commended the troops for their swift and effective response during the rescue operation. He reaffirmed the Brigade’s commitment to ensuring the safety of all communities under its jurisdiction and encouraged residents to continue providing timely and reliable information to aid in improving security within the state.
