Courtroom Chaos: Taylor Schabusiness Attacks Lawyer
Taylor Schabusiness, a 27-year-old convicted murderer serving a life sentence for the 2022 killing and dismemberment of Shad Thyrion, attacked her attorney, Curtis Julka, during a court hearing on April 4, 2025, in Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin.
The incident occurred at the start of a preliminary hearing related to new charges alleging she assaulted a sergeant at Taycheedah Correctional Institution in July 2024. Schabusiness suddenly lunged at Julka, prompting officers to restrain her and remove her from the courtroom.
Following a brief recess, the hearing resumed with Schabusiness appearing via video conference from the county jail. A not guilty plea was entered on her behalf, and Julka was permitted to withdraw from the case. This marks the second time Schabusiness has attacked her legal counsel in court; she previously assaulted her former attorney, Quinn Jolly, during a hearing in 2023.
