Three Vigilantes Arrested in Niger State for Murder of 30-Year-Old Man

Niger State Tragedy: Vigilantes Charged with Murder

In Niger State, Nigeria, three vigilante members have been arrested for the alleged murder of a 30-year-old man named Mohammadu Bello from Awala village in Rijau Local Government Area. The suspects are accused of culpable homicide in connection with Bello’s death.

This incident highlights concerns regarding the conduct of vigilante groups in the region. While these groups often assist in community security, there have been instances where their actions have led to legal and ethical issues.

The Niger State Police Command has been active in addressing various criminal activities. In a separate case, they arrested Jamilu Saidu from Kumbashi District, Mariga Local Government Area, for allegedly killing a 30-year-old man named Iliyasu Aminu during a wedding ceremony. Saidu reportedly struck Aminu on the head with a machete during a fight between two villages.
