Tinubu Signs Development Commission Bills into Law

New Development Laws Signed by Tinubu for South Regions

President Bola Tinubu has signed into law the South-West Development Commission (SWDC) Bill and the South-South Development Commission (SSDC) Bill, establishing dedicated agencies to drive development in Nigeria’s South-West and South-South regions.

The SWDC and SSDC are tasked with promoting infrastructure development, economic growth, and social welfare within their respective regions. With the establishment of these commissions, all six of Nigeria’s geo-political zones now have dedicated development agencies.

The Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF) has expressed deep gratitude to President Tinubu for signing the South-South Development Commission Bill into law, describing it as a historic and pivotal move for the region’s growth.
