The APC has stated that President Bola Tinubu is not threatened by discussions among opposition figures, including former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Peter Obi, and Rabiu Kwankwaso, regarding a potential alliance for the 2027 elections.
According to APC representatives, the trio lacks cohesion and represents differing political ideologies that make collaboration unlikely.
The party dismissed their potential unity as a “non-threat” and expressed confidence in retaining its dominance, labeling some of these politicians as “serial contestants” unlikely to succeed electorally.
Meanwhile, opposition members, particularly from the PDP, have emphasized that the goal of any alliance would be to address pressing national challenges, such as insecurity and economic hardships, rather than personal political ambitions.
