
Fatal New Orleans Crash: A Dark New Year with 10 Dead and 30 Injuries
On New Year’s Day, a tragic incident unfolded in New Orleans when a pickup truck, driven by 42-year-old Shamsud Din Jabbar, a former U.S. Army soldier from Texas, plowed into a crowd of New Year’s revelers on Bourbon Street. The attack resulted in at least 10 fatalities and over 35 injuries.
Jabbar, who was carrying an ISIS flag and multiple improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in his truck, was shot and killed by police during a subsequent firefight.
