On the evening of March 6, 2025, at approximately 8:44 p.m., unknown gunmen attacked Emmy Gold Pharmacy Nigeria Limited in Agyaragu, Jenkwe Development Area, Obi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State. During the assault, a young woman, who was a passerby, was shot and killed. The assailants abducted the pharmacy’s owner and two of his sales assistants, forcibly taking them into a nearby bush.
Eyewitnesses reported that the gunmen were heavily armed and fired sporadically, instilling fear among residents. Local youths attempted to intervene but were met with heavy gunfire, forcing them to retreat.
The attack lasted for nearly an hour without any security intervention. Efforts to reach the spokesperson of the Nasarawa State Police Command for confirmation have been unsuccessful.
Residents of Agyaragu are urging the state government to increase security presence in the area to prevent further incidents and ensure the safe release of the abducted individuals.
