Heartbreaking News: Former FCT Councillor and Son Killed in Trailer Crash

A tragic accident occurred on January 13, 2025, involving a former councillor, identified as Paul, who represented the Rimba-Ebagi ward of Abaji Area Council in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and his son. Both were fatally injured when a trailer ran over them on the Abuja-Lokoja road.

Eyewitnesses reported that the incident took place around 10:34 am. Paul and his son were riding a motorcycle when they fell onto the road, and an oncoming trailer was unable to stop in time, resulting in the tragic accident.

Officials from the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) responded promptly, transporting the victims to a nearby hospital, where they were unfortunately confirmed deceased.

The bodies have since been returned to their family for burial arrangements. The driver of the trailer and the vehicle involved have been taken into custody by the local police division for further investigation.
