A 43-year-old businessman, Richard Chijioke Nomanzi, was found dead with multiple stab wounds in his residence in Ogbogoro, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, on Wednesday, February 12, 2025. Nomanzi, a metal scrap dealer, was discovered after neighbors noticed a foul odor emanating from his apartment and alerted both the police and his relatives.
Upon entering the apartment, they found Nomanzi’s lifeless body with multiple stab wounds on his face, stomach, and a deep cut on his neck. Gift, the mother of Nomanzi’s child, recounted receiving a call informing her of his death and expressed her desire for justice for him and their child.
The incident has been reported to the Ozuoba Police Division under the Choba Area Command. As of now, the Rivers State Police Command has not released an official statement regarding the case.
Investigations are expected to be underway to determine the circumstances surrounding Nomanzi’s death.
