A tragic story has emerged from Las Vegas, where Monique Gilbertson, a 68-year-old woman, was found dead in her freezer earlier this month.
The police were called for a welfare check after Gilbertson had not been heard from in several days. Upon entering her home, officers found her body in the freezer.
The investigation led to the arrest of her former roommate, Jazlynn Roush, who allegedly killed Gilbertson by giving her cocaine laced with fentanyl.
Roush had reportedly continued living in the mobile home after Gilbertson’s death and failed to call authorities, instead hiding her body.
Police believe Roush acted out of malice after Gilbertson accused her of stealing and kicked her out.
