A 38-year-old man, identified as Zacharia Moses, tragically lost his life while attempting to mediate a dispute in Kuchiyako village, located in the Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
The incident occurred around 9:33 pm during a Christmas party at the community square. A disagreement erupted between two young men over a missing phone, leading to a physical altercation. Moses intervened to separate the fighters but suddenly collapsed.
Despite immediate efforts to revive him, he was pronounced dead upon arrival at a hospital in Kuje. A relative later disclosed that Moses had a history of asthma.
The two individuals involved in the fight were apprehended by local vigilantes and handed over to security personnel for further investigation. The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has been notified of the incident.
