Latvian basketball star Janis Timma, aged 32, was found deceased in Moscow on December 16, 2024. Reports suggest he fell from a high-rise apartment building, with authorities considering suicide as the cause of death.

Timma had a distinguished career, playing for teams such as Zenit Saint Petersburg and the Orlando Magic in the NBA. He was also a member of the Latvian national team.

A message directed to his ex-wife, Ukrainian singer and actress Anna Sedokova, was reportedly found on his phone. The couple had recently separated on December 9, 2024.

This tragic event has elicited an outpouring of condolences from the basketball community, highlighting the importance of mental health awareness.
