Troops Capture Suspected Gunrunner in Taraba: Submachine Gun Recovered

Taraba Security Boost: Suspected Gunrunner Arrested Along with Submachine Gun



On January 13, 2025, troops from the 6 Brigade Nigerian Army, operating under Sector 3 of Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), arrested a suspected gunrunner, Alhaji Adamu Usman, in Gassol Local Government Area of Taraba State.

The operation, conducted at his residence in Maraban Gassol, led to the recovery of a fabricated submachine gun. Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, Commander of the 6 Brigade, confirmed the arrest and commended the troops for their professionalism.

He emphasized the brigade’s commitment to combating arms proliferation and maintaining peace in the region, urging residents to support security agencies with credible information.
