Troops of the 3 Division and Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) have successfully rescued 18 kidnapped victims and apprehended 10 bandits during operations in Plateau and Taraba states.
The rescue operation took place along the border between Plateau and Taraba states, where the troops engaged in an offensive that led to the liberation of the victims. Following profiling and documentation by relevant agencies, the rescued individuals have been reunited with their families.
In a related development, troops of Sector Five, conducting Operation Golden Peace, captured five bandits at a criminal hideout in the Tarangol area of Bokkos Local Government Area in Plateau State. Items recovered from the suspects included fabricated rifles, rounds of 7.62 mm (special) ammunition, cartridges, and daggers.
Additionally, troops intercepted bandits at Jannaret in Mangu Local Government Area while they were attempting to cause unrest in the region. The apprehended suspects are currently in custody and will be handed over to the appropriate authorities for prosecution upon the completion of investigations.
