US Will Not Tolerate Zelensky’s Approach, Trump Asserts
President Donald Trump has expressed strong dissatisfaction with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s recent comments suggesting that the end of the Russia-Ukraine war is “very, very far away.” In a public statement, Trump criticized Zelensky’s stance, stating, “This is the worst statement that could have been made by Zelensky, and America will not put up with it for much longer.”
This development follows a tense Oval Office meeting between Trump and Zelensky, after which the U.S. administration announced a halt to new weapons sales to Ukraine and is considering freezing shipments from existing stockpiles. These measures could significantly impact Ukraine’s defense capabilities against Russian forces.
European leaders have expressed concern over the potential shift in U.S. policy, emphasizing the need for continued support to Ukraine. French President Emmanuel Macron has proposed a short-term truce in Ukraine, highlighting the urgency of diplomatic efforts to resolve the conflict.
