TVC presenter Akashat Ny’mat has criticized Nigerian musician Davido for his recent comments on a U.S. radio program, where he described Nigeria’s economy as being “in shambles.”
Ny’mat argued that by making such a statement, Davido inadvertently discouraged foreign investors from considering Nigeria as a viable investment destination.
Ny’mat pointed out that while the President and government officials often work to attract foreign investors to Nigeria, Davido’s remarks on a global platform could send a negative message to potential investors.
She expressed concern that the singer’s comments could undermine efforts to improve the country’s image, especially when it comes to attracting investment and stimulating economic growth.
While some might agree with Davido’s criticism of the current state of Nigeria’s economy, others, like Ny’mat, feel that the artist’s global platform should be used more carefully, especially when discussing sensitive issues like the country’s economic health.
