Pope Francis’ First Photo After Hospitalization Released

The Vatican has released the first photograph of Pope Francis since his hospitalization on February 14 for severe bronchitis that progressed to double pneumonia. The image shows the 88-year-old pontiff praying in the chapel of his suite at Rome’s Gemelli Hospital, seated and wearing a stole, a vestment worn during Mass.

According to the Vatican, Pope Francis’ health is gradually improving, and he is now breathing without assistance. Despite his hospitalization, he has continued to manage church affairs, communicating through written messages and a short audio recording released on March 6.

In Buenos Aires, thousands of Argentinians gathered at the Basilica of Our Lady of Luján to pray for the pope’s recovery. Many attendees came from impoverished neighborhoods, reflecting Pope Francis’ dedication to the underprivileged.

While the pope has not appeared publicly since his hospitalization, he expressed gratitude to children who gathered outside the hospital, thanking them for their prayers and support.
