Social activist Martins Otse, known as VeryDarkMan, has revealed that his earlier claim of ₦180 million missing from his NGO account was a deliberate stunt designed to highlight the rapid spread of unverified information on social media.
In a video shared on his Instagram, he expressed frustration over the public’s quickness to believe and disseminate unverified claims.
He stated, “80% of you on social media are very, very stupid,” emphasizing the need for critical thinking before sharing information.
This revelation has sparked mixed reactions online. While some commend his effort to raise awareness about misinformation, others criticize his approach as deceptive.
The incident underscores the importance of verifying information before sharing it, especially in the age of rapid digital communication.
