Martins Otse, known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has reported that approximately ₦180 million was stolen from his NGO’s account following a website hack. He stated that the funds were diverted to an unknown account, leaving only ₦20 million remaining.
VDM mentioned that one suspect has been arrested, and efforts are underway to recover the stolen amount.
This claim has sparked skepticism among Nigerians, with many questioning the circumstances of the alleged theft. Some have expressed doubts about the security measures of the NGO’s website and the transparency of the donation process.
In October, VDM launched the Martins Vincent Osei Initiative, raising over ₦30 million in donations within hours, including a significant contribution from music executive Don Jazzy.
The situation has led to increased scrutiny of the NGO’s operations and the handling of the donated funds.
